awesome writer! You might be writing about pizza but you have a very creative, eloquent way of describing it. Just wanted to send you a word of encouragement and let you know I think you have a real talent (and I graduated with a B.A. in English, so I'm picky). Keep up the good work!

Also, if you are ever on the other side of the state of NY, there is an awesome place called Stefano's Pizza in Carthage, NY. This debate really touches on something deeply philosophical, in fact I get this ineffable feeling when posed with the question "is there such thing as a great slice of Pizza", much like pondering "if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound"...Pizza is in a very unremarkable category that doesn't allow it to have much potential for excellence- its just dough, sauce and cheese. But its in this mundane-ness of ingredients that the excellence can occur. Maybe it has to be the right moment/setting, maybe the right level of intoxication, maybe just out of immense hunger, but to me an "excellent" slice of Pizza is one that exceeds its potential, where the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts. Pizza is excellent in a mystical sense, and there is no way to rationalize it or quantify it in the way we can with other foods.
Keep up the good work with this blog, because you really are touching on something sacred and beyond yourself.

"I guess what I'm saying is that things c...

"I guess what I'm saying is that things change from moment to moment and people change and pizza changes, and we probably won't know our perfect slice until we're almost done eating it."

If there was a Academy Awards for Blogging that quote would be what you would be nominated for.
